Waju (pronounced Wah-joo) was born Dennis Olanrewaju Broderick II, to a Sierra Leonean-Nigerian father and an African American mother. With roots in both Los Angeles and the Inland Empire, Waju has become an intrinsic figure in the Southern Cali hip hop scene. Whether he’s performing at local music festivals like Coachella or in Sierra Leone, West Africa, Waju’s stage presence and command over the audience is irrefutable. His 90s inspired flow, ornate lyrical pattern and explicit delivery have garnered the attention of fans and fellow musicians alike and have led to noteworthy projects, including Alive and Direct, a collaborative EP with Russian-based producer Garimastah.

Waju describes himself as “Just a young man flexin’ on the universe with positivity” and he looks forward to doing just that with his upcoming LP JuiceBox – a collaboration with LA-based producer Huss.
